Zen Backyard

Been thinking about completely remodeling my home these days. After hurricane Ike hit Houston; I was left with a lot of damages and with the summer knocking on our doors, I thought of remodeling my backyard.  Ikea came to mind and purchased a very nice umbrella for my patio table.   Boy, was I excited; I pictured myself with a “Michelada” on my hand and relaxing under the umbrella,  but to my disappointment  it didn’t fit. I thought it was a joke when my huby Dave told me, it wouldn’t fit. Apparently, the umbrella’s pole was too tick to fit into the table’s hole. He said “You need to return it or buy new furniture that fits the umbrella”. I was like, R You Serious? Serious meaning, I was going to have to return it. I imagined myself going back and waiting in line for my turn and having to look for another umbrella, but as if it was not enough, I had lost the receipt as well. On that note, I will have to save more money for new furniture because an umbrella base is not something I was wanting to get. However, surfing the internet for outdoor furniture, I found the new Neo Livingstones from Smarin. If money was no object, I would get these stones and place them around my dream yoga studio.

BANG! The Universe Verse

Oh, this one must be one of my favorites. Nicely done in a comic book form and intended for all ages. It illustrates the scientific theories about the origin of the universe and though it’s set in verse delivered by a cartoon Einstein, there’s no dumb down of content. For all those nerds out there is an intelligent book. As the author; Jamie Dunbar himself puts it “If you don’t understand everything, don’t worry, no one does!”

Amazing book and it’s available FREE as a PDF direct from the author (email him here) or in a low-res version on his website. You can also download the e-book for $5 from his site or get the physical book for just ten bucks. (It’s also on Amazon for $15. Don’t buy it there, but if you like it, drop in and write a nice review.)
